Since skin rejuvenation through red light at 633 nanometres is a relatively new development, even more research is performed to show the outcomes of this. To inform you about the research, some of the studies related to the use of Collagen light and its benefits are shown below.
Study 1: A study to determine the efficacy of light therapy in facial skin rejuvenation.
This study shows that there are significant differences after 12 weeks of taking collagen sessions. At a week 12 follow-up, 52% of the subjects showed a 25%–50% improvement in photo-aging scores , 81% of the subjects reported a significant improvement in periorbital wrinkles on completion of the rejuvenation program.
The mean density of furrows was significantly reduced after 9 weeks. Photo-aging assessment scores showed a significant improvement at all follow-up points.
In assessment of overall tone, softness, smoothness, clarity, elasticity and firmness of skin in the treatment area, the majority of people reported improvements in all these points at all time-points.

Study 2: The use of light therapy in the treatment of photo-aged skin.
After 12 weeks of collagen light therapy , 91% of the subjects reported improved skin tone, and 82% reported enhanced smoothness of skin in the treatment area.
The majority of subjects joining in the research reported a moderate effect of the light treatment over this period, although the significant majority reported improvements in skin parameters such as smoothness, softness, and firmness at the final 12-week assessment.
However, as reported, a 50% reduction in photo-aging signs in the treated area over a 12-week period should make red light therapy an increasingly attractive option for anti-aging in cosmetic therapy.

Study 3: Light therapy for face and body rejuvenation and cellulite & rat reduction.
Feedback on this narrow band body rejuvenation light research study was almost exclusively positive.
No complaints from the 300 subjects joining the research were received during or immediately after application and the satisfaction rate of this large amount of subjects tested was very high.
At 12 weeks, 74% of the subjects reported visible changes in fine lines and wrinkles, with a total of 73% reporting the outcome of the treatment as either good or excellent. At the 12-week follow-up,
improved skin tone was reported by 84% of subjects, improved smoothness and clarity by more than 70%, improved firmness by 68%, and improved elasticity by 47% of subjects. The subjects also reported a visible reduction in pore size.
This study concludes that light therapy is very effective in every subjects for face and body skin rejuvenation and skin care including cellulites by increase circulation and collagen production.

Study 4: A study to determine the efficacy of a light device in the treatment of photo-aged skin.
In this research the assessment of global skin grading was evaluated at weeks 6, 9, and 12 by a dermatologist. Additional outcome measures included assessments of clinical photography and subject satisfaction scores. 74% of the subjects reported a visible improvement in fine lines and wrinkles at 8 weeks post-treatment. This study concludes that red light therapy represents an effective and acceptable method of photo rejuvenation.

Study 6: Primary and secondary mechanisms of action of visible to near-infrared light on cells.
At low light intensities the light absorbing molecules in the skin transfer the energy to other skin molecules. The activated molecules cause chemical reactions in the surrounding tissue.
Light at 633 nm increases the mitochondrial membrane potential, and proton gradient, caused changes in mitochondrial optical properties, and so increase the oxygenation and detoxification of the skin.

Study 5: A study on phototherapy for skin rejuvenation.
Nonablative skin rejuvenation aims to improve photo-aged skin without destroying the epidermis.
The elasticity of the skin increased significantly in the treated sides of the treatment groups.
A significant increase in the amount of collagen fibres was observed at 2 weeks post-treatment in the treatment groups. These results showed that phototherapy is an effective treatment for skin rejuvenation evidence of increased collagen and elastic fibres.
In this research it is concluded that 633 nm phototherapy is an effective, safe, well-tolerated and painless treatment for skin rejuvenation. From the clinical aspect, the non-thermal feature of phototherapy may be a significant advantage, because we could achieve effective rejuvenation of aging skin without inducing any thermal damage or wound in normal skin.
